Brand Identity
The Abby Sport Film Festival is an original and fictitious festival that I named and created the brand identity for. This festival screens and celebrates sports films from across Canada and around the world, and aims to grow the sport and film community in Abbotsford, also known as “Abby”, BC.
Project Background
The challenge was to create a memorable and distinct brand identity, which included an original name, brandmark, colour palette, iconography, and more that would resonate with a target audience of individuals who are energetic, driven, and care about their physical and mental health. The brand identity must be displayed in the context of the real world to show how it can be applied through channels such as signage, wayfinding, and other promotional materials.
Design Challenge
The brandmark combines the topics of film, sports, and the city of Abbotsford through an illustration of a person running inside a film strip that creates an “A”. Bright green is the major brand colour because it is meant to represent the farming community in Abbotsford, which is a major part of the city’s identity.

A braille texture would be embossed into the paper ticket to create a more accessible experience for those who are visually impaired. This element makes the brand more accessible and provides the opportunity to reach a larger and more inclusive audience.
