Project Type

App Design

ThriftCan is an app that I designed for a fictitious thrift store brand that I conceptualized and created a visual identity for. This app allows users to shop and donate via the app, to create a convenient and efficient solution for these tasks.

Project Background

The challenge was to create an interactive project in response to an objective or problem, and fit the needs of a target audience. For my project, I wanted to provide a solution for Canadian adults and young adults to donate to second-hand stores in a more accessible and efficient way to help them make a positive impact in their community and be environmentally conscious.

Design Challenge

The conduction of a competitive analysis, user survey, user persona, wireframes, and more were crucial to define the problem the app would be solving and how to solve it in the simplist way through design. By considering function and form simultaneously during the project and iterating the design based on user testing, the project answered the brief and met the design challenge.

Process

Client

The unique selling feature of the app is the camera feature which allows users who want to donate furniture, or any other items, to take a picture of the item and upload it to the app to be approved or declined by store employees, all remotely from their home.
